I have a question...

I need everyone's help!!! My skin has been acting up recently, more than it always does. My skin has been blotchy for a few years now (red spots all over) due to old acne scars and allergic reactions I had from certain acne medicine. Anyway, I've been breaking out on my forehead and chin more than usual, and the zits WON'T GO AWAY! Well, they'll get smaller, but reappear in a few days. To top it off, my forehead is lookin' bumpy, even with foundation on. I guess they're whiteheads?

I know my skin is a mess because I'm not getting enough sleep or staying hydrated...but what products would you ladies recommend to clear my current acne/white bumps? I have combination skin that's on the sensitive side...

Also, I started using Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher and Hydra Complete Multi-Level Moisture Creme for Normal/Combination skin. I love the Pore Minimizer because it really does fill in my open pores to create a smoother look, but the moisturizer kind of stings! When I tried it a few weeks ago after I received a bunch of samples of this stuff, it didn't sting at all, which is why I decided to buy the full-sized jar.
Should I stop using it?
New love...
Stings my face...

If any of you have time PLEASE let me know what products have helped soothe irritated skin...
Arigato! <3 <3

i would try returning it and telling them HEYYY it didn't sting with the small samples and now i have no use for the big jar since it burrrrrns!! I don't know...after I wash my face with warm water it feels dry and tight so I just use kiss me moisture/whitening cream. I switch it up with my Mario Badescu samples which are actually pretty nice!

hey, if the estee lauder stings, STOP using it, sometimes we used samples and it worked for us because it was used at a limited time only, but not that you're using regularly, some irritation occur even after months! So if it stings, STOP using it, maybe it has to do with the combination of your skin care as well?

Whatever new you're using the causes the red blotch and white spots, I suggest you stop using them and buy a hypoallergenic cleanser...hmm...I've used Clinique's mild cleansing lotion. It stops all the allergies I got from other skincare, but of course, our skin is different. Try to use lesser make up for now...and sleep early :( I hope your skin gets better

maybe you could try using a a pore vacuum mask on the forehead? or maybe get a facial. I've been using tea tree oil as spot treatment for my pimples and it works alright for me. might wanna try that too. hope your skin gets better. :)

For treating pimples or whiteheads, I like to use the Mario Badescu Drying Cream or the DHC Ance Spot Therapy.
You also mentioned that the Pore Minimizing lotion was filling in your pores, were you using an exfoliater too?
If you kept using the pore minimizer without an exfoliater, then maybe your pores got clogged and that's the reason for the bumpiness and whiteheads.
Good luck and I hope your skin gets better.

Try using this item if u can find it: http://cgi.ebay.com/SANA-Pore-Vacummer-Vacuum-Out-Clogged-Build-Up_W0QQitemZ300229762373QQihZ020QQcategoryZ29618QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

And use a mild toner or rose water -- unfortunatelly out here in Southern California too - our weather has been either xtremely hot or cold/chilly, so its HELL on my skin, so i definetly have to change my routine to accomodate the changes -- and my skin is REALLY sensitive.

so im sticking to your blog entry, I could use some of my own new remedies! keep us posted girl!

Hi Everyone, thank you for the great acvice! I stopped using the Estee Lauder Hydra moisturizer. Went back to using my Olay moisturizer for sensitve skin. It doesn't help reduce my spots or acne but it doesn't sting and smooths out the rough, bumpy spots a bit...I would love to try out the products that all of you mentioned...<3

Bittenbefore: I will definitely ask for samples next time a spot a cosme decorte counter! Thanks ;)

Karrie: Nooo I don't exfoliate too often...I have the St. Ives Apricot Scrub but I only use it once a week. Is that enough?

Kimberly: Hey girl! Thanks for the tip, is the pore vacuum safe for sensitive/irritated skin? I see a lot of different brands that make similar products, I need to try one out!

I exfoliate twice a week and use a clay based mask too.
How often you exfoliate is up to you and what works with your skin.
It's just important to make sure that the make up you wear isn't accumulating on your face and clogging the pores.
The Shiseido Purifying Mask is a good clay based mask that absorbs the impurities.
Good for oily or combination skin.

Definitely could be the seasonal changes. La Mer keeps my skin in check as long as I keep pretty good living habits and schedules. Stay hydrated!!

Fuzkittie: It is getting chilly in Tokyo, but there are some days I won't need a jacket. I just got facewash from the Mentholatum brand...it's caled 'Acnes'. Gross name!

I've also been trying to drink more tea and water, so I have to pee about ten times more than usual. TMI? LOL.

I feel your pain! I sometimes have skin issues and it drives me CRAZY. Good ol Benzoyl Peroxide always does the trick for me. Try to get the lowest dosage, around 2.5%. Also, lesson learned, hydrate your face using a good moisturizer. Might seem counter-intuitive but the BP will dry out your face and that just leaves your face a further mess. Hope that helps!

i've been using Mario Badescu Drying Cream as an acne spot treamtne, works wonders on those under the skin red infected bumps. Also, the Drying Lotion is good for white heads.

it might sound crazy, but when my skin's acting up, all irritated and red, i use pure shea butter mixed with coconut oil on my face, and it calms it down. =X hey whatever works right?

i'm sensitive towards EL moisturizer too. But the Idealist Pore thingy works great in the morning.

hey,
the nivea creme, the one in the blue tin helped reduced my blotchy skin.
i think you mentioned something about it before?
hehe
actually my skin got really oily after a few weeks butbut the reddish spots went away!

so i would say use it for a couple of weeks and then stop until needed again!

just want to share something that works for me =)
