I got a text today from my boyfriend at 6:41 p.m. and it went like this...
"Me + dirt bike = broken collar bone. Final score for today...dirt bike = 1, Mac = 0. Go team!!"
Yes, his collarbone broke today while he was out riding dirt bikes with his friend. He crashed the bike, went flying in the air and somehow crushed his left collar bone to bits and pieces.
Wait, there's more.....
He broke his right collarbone in January of this year on a snowboarding trip.
Yeah that's right. It's his second time this year breaking not just any bone, but his collarbone.
There's something almost commendable to this sort of irony!
Two metal plates are holding his right collarbone together at the moment. The left side is currently shattered, and he'll definitely need surgery.
I feel for the man. I can't imagine the kind of pain he's in. I just made him two grilled cheese sandwiches so the Percocet he took an hour ago won't eat at the walls of his stomach...
I love this man to death, and I'll take care of him without hesitation...but I can't hush the self-absorbed voice in my head. I can't help but wish he'd act his age...or at least not get broken so much. I have to worry about his upcoming deployment...and now this. I wish he'd for a second, think about how much I might worry before he jumps on a dirt bike that's not his.....or go riding while he's sick.
He said he's sorry he made me worry so much, and that he'd try not to make me worry.
Sometimes empty promises are better than none...

Kimberly: Arigatoooo~. I'm sitting on the floor right now making sure he's sleeping okay, gonna camp out here tonight, hehe.
What a good girlfriend ^_^ -- and percocet is not a nice drug, so def. make sure he eats, that stuff *WHOA* lol -- one of my friends actually broke his collar bone twice in martial arts, i think ever since his first accident, he never really healed -- sometimes u just gotta know when to STOP. lol -- as for my ethnic background -- im a big ol mutt... the "UN" all in one... lol : vietnamese, dutch, indonesian, german and filipina ^_^
Aww, sweetie, I'm sure he feels bad, too. I'm sorry to hear he got hurt so badly!
Kimberly: just out of curiosity, what race/ethnicity do you identify yourself most with? I'm trying to be a good girlfriend, it goes without saying. You're right, sometimes you just need to know when to stop. But as soon as he gets better, he'll stop listening to me..........
Alienman: why thank you...
BTW your post about your recent unannounced 'guests' was hilarious! Why do strange ppl (including pizza delivery guy and pesky mailman) show up at the door when we look like homeless crack-addicts? LOL
